PlayStation 2 also known as PS2, is one of the most well known gaming consoles manufactured by Sony. PlayStation was already famous until Sony announced the launch of the PS2 in March 1999, which was then released a year later. The launch of the PS2 took the gaming to a new level in 2000 with amazing graphics. It gave new life to all the gamers around the globe. The launch of the PlayStation 2 gave a platform to Sony. But PlayStation 2 was not the only console to be released, there was a mighty competition with Sega’s dreamcast, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo. If not for the PS3, the PS2 is yet considered one of the best selling consoles having sold 138 million units by August 2009.
